Browsing the Strobist Group at Flickr again today I stumbled across a blog post by a fellow named Matt Grum.
I honestly do not intend this blog to be a link to other peoples work as I want it to be for my mis-adventures in Photography… yet as I have said before… why reinvent the wheel?
Anyhow… I just have to share this with you… hope Matt doesn’t mind some more exposure (or me posting a screen shot of his blog)… but he has done an excellent job at showing us all how he sets up a quick head shot… all from what he sees at the back of the camera.
I thought it would be an interesting subject for a “stream of consciousness” post showing every shot that was taken during set-up and and trying to explain what was going through me head at the time. This is not supposed to be a perfect example of how it should be done, merely a record of how it was done.
A couple of softboxes, a background light, a projector screen… and voila… he shows us how to use one light at a time to set them each for what he wants… bingo…
Check out Matt Grum’s blog post titled “Speed Lighting” it will put in pictures all that you have read about setting up lighting and make it seem a lot less complicated.
